A young, bespectacled man with brown hair was walking in the forest, coming from the old factory. He was muttering about how he had missed the first day of school and that no-one had bothered to tell him. At least he'll be on time today.

The guy stumbles as the unknown woman descends.
Shit, too great of a chance there might be witnesses, he thinks. If they're determined to take me down, I'll have to draw them as far away from town as possible. I can't be identified yet, they still think I killed him.
He runs off in a direction away from civilization.

Xaith kicks her and she hits the tree. Xaith runs after him as Evanscence got up and followed him.
''Betrayer!!!'' she yelled.

Soon the guy reaches a field, with forest all around.
Perfect! he thinks. The locals will just think it's some fools conducting rituals. Now I will end this.
He turns around, as a strange dark aura fills the air. A shining green sword appears in his hand. He takes a stance.
"You want to fight, then let's go!" he roars.
(OoC: Y'know, I'm beginning to think we should re-start this thread, since fights are usually forbidden outside of Lyoko. I'll ask Titan to see if we can go from here. I may have to limit my character's fighting ability.)

The guy swayed to evade the punches, while swinging his sword. It was going to take a lot to avoid using his abilities, just in case someone was around. He might even have to retreat.
Yet, still, who was this person that had approached him, and was now fighting alongside him? He seemed familiar, and he spoke of things the guy had witnessed, but still nothing.

She stopped. ''Fine.'' and went to Xanair.
Xanair looked at them. '' Leave, you got luck I came.''
They leave.
''Human, lets go somewhere safe for now.'' Xaith told him.

The guy nods, though is still wary.
They return to the academy. Class is over and it is late afternoon.
"You got a place to stay?" he asks.
He is not willing to share his dorm with this stranger, but also is not willing to let him simply sleep on the street.

The man is surprised, but does not show it.
"No idea," he says at last. "Never heard of Xana. Some kind of organization in which those two were members? Maybe they think we humans are scum. I've heard of AIs deciding to attack humans under the impression that the human race is obsolete. The fear kinda killed my reputation a bit. Thought I was going to mechanize the whole world."
He holds up his left arm.
"Bionic," he says. "Lost the real one when I was 15. Heard of the Cataclysm? I was at Ground Zero for one of the explosions, and all I got was a bunch of burns. A fallen beam ripped my arm off. Fallout killed my family. My wife and I live off my job, since it's all I have left."
His eyes are bitter, but not hateful.

The Cataclysm of 2006
A massive attack on every country on the planet. The perpetrator(s) remain unknown to this day.
It all began with the disappearance of famous demolitionist Ezekiel "Zeeky" Bomb (pronounced "bohm"). Some days later, Bomb reappeared, in several places at once. Realizing the potential danger, a phenomenology institute known only as Temporal Laboratories dispatched staff to investigate how Mr. Bomb was in all these places at once. Once in certain key locations of major cities all over the globe, all the Bombs suddenly exploded, engulfing the city they were at within a massive thermonuclear explosion. The world is still rebuilding, three years later, though there has been some resurrection of the old planet that the explosions had ravaged.
Cataclysm victim Locnil Fignirf, who was 15 at the time, wrote a memoir about his role in the attack, how Temporal Laboratories had sent him to investigate Bomb's mysterious ability, and how he had been near an explosive in Charlotte, North Carolina, which is not far from his hometown of Franklinsville, when it detonated, and how his only real souvenir was his own left arm, recovered from a pile of debris when a beam ripped it completely from his body after it fell. World renowned author Shadow Darkman praised the work, saying how it touched his heart, and sharing that he, too, had lost family in the catastrophe.

The guy raises an eyebrow at the stranger's story but also hears a noise.
"You don't think..." he says.
He hears more noises. He sees a shadow of...
"Oh, fuck," he says. "Run for it! They're here!"
He sprints into the town, trusting that Xana wouldn't tell them to kill him in front of witnesses, who could assist him in numbers greater than he could summon. It's never good to kill your enemies in front of witnesses, it can cause them to join your enemies. At the least, you should let them be, in case their deaths end up being un-necessary.

The guy is pushing through crowds, hoping to lose himself in them, so that Xanair and Evanescence cannot find him. They still have not forced him to resort to his abilities, and he hopes he will never have to.
